Benvenuti

We're getting married!

We can't wait to celebrate with our favorite people in the green heart of Italy. Here you'll find everything you need to join us — from travel and where to stay, to three unforgettable nights at a 500-year-old hilltop estate in Le Marche. Grazie for being part of our story.

Come ci siamo conosciuti

Our Story

Our story began like any modern love story: when Jay swiped right. Or more precisely, when Jay used his Hinge rose to make sure Ale knew he wasn’t taking any chances.

One message turned into one date, two, and many more. Countless conversations. Spontaneous adventures. And one day, what started out as a typical afternoon at the dog beach turned into our first evening as boyfriend and girlfriend.

From there, life has only gotten sweeter, taking us around the world: to Mexico, Morocco, Spain, Hawaii and many other corners of the United States. And now, to Italy, where we’ll celebrate the beginning of our next chapter as husband and wife with all of you!

We could go on and on about the adventures we’ve shared, but as they say, a picture is worth a thousand words. Or in this case, a few pictures that offer a glimpse into our love story so far.

The Venue

Le Stonghe

Fossombrone • Le Marche • Italy

When we started planning, we knew we wanted somewhere everyone could be together — not just for a few hours, but for a few days. Le Stonghe turned out to be exactly that: a 500-year-old palazzo on a hilltop above Fossombrone, reached by a winding, cypress-lined drive, and for three days the whole estate is ours. There are sun-warmed stone courtyards, two swimming pools, olive groves all around, and views that run all the way to the Adriatic. It’s relaxed, beautiful and easy to settle into — the kind of place where you can slow down and spend real time with everyone, which is exactly what we were hoping for.

The Setting

Fossombrone, in Italy’s best-kept secret

We fell for this corner of Le Marche — a region people call ‘Italy’s best-kept secret’ — the moment we found it, perched on a hilltop with rolling countryside stretching between the Apennines and the Adriatic. The 15th-century palazzo and its 17th-century country house were once summer homes of the Florentine Ridolfi family, lovingly restored into the apartments we’ll all share. And if you feel like exploring, the Renaissance city of Urbino, the Furlo Gorge and the Adriatic beaches are all an easy drive away.

Food & Wine

Culinary

If there’s one part of the weekend we can’t stop thinking about, it’s the food. In Le Marche, everything revolves around pure flavours and local traditions — aromatic olive oil, homemade pasta, and wines from the surrounding hills — and we can’t wait for you to taste the very best of it across our three days together. Think generous, relaxed Italian meals, a few little surprises, and long, happy hours at the table.

Our chef

Chef Luigi

We’ve heard Chef Luigi’s cooking described as Michelin-star level, and we can’t wait for you to taste it for yourselves. He’ll cook a four-course dinner under the stars built around the season and the region — from his now-legendary duck to a carbonara show-cooked on the vintage Ape.

“Luigi cooked for us at a truly Michelin-star level — every course delicious, every guest looked after.”

Where to Stay

Accommodation

For our three nights together, we’ve reserved the entire Le Stonghe estate exclusively for our wedding weekend — the Palazzo, the Country House, and, if needed, the City Apartment in Fossombrone. Together, the estate offers 30 rooms accommodating up to 60 guests.

Most accommodations are three-bedroom apartments, each bedroom with its own bathroom, plus a shared living space and kitchen. The Country House sits about 500 feet from the Palazzo, and the City Apartment, if needed, is a 15-minute drive away.

The cost is $525 per room for the full three-night stay, based on two guests per room. We’d love for as many guests as possible to stay on-site and enjoy the full wedding weekend together — though you’re of course welcome to arrange your own accommodations nearby if you prefer. Because space is limited, room assignments will be made once our guest list is finalized — and we’ll do our best to place you in an apartment with your friends or family.

Getting Here

Travel

We can’t wait to see you in Italy — here’s a little help getting from the airport to the celebration. We’d suggest flying into Bologna (BLQ) and driving from there: it’s a scenic two-hour trip south into the hills of Le Marche. Ancona is the closest airport (~45 min) if you can find a connection, and Rimini, Perugia, Rome and Milan all work too. Whatever you decide, send us your plans and we’ll help however we can — we might also organise a group shuttle from Bologna, so let us know if that would be useful for you.

FAQ

What’s included?

From start to finish, the heart of the celebration is on us — all of your meals, every event across the weekend, a portion of your accommodation, and shuttle service to and from the Palazzo for everyone staying at the Country House and the City Apartment. And if you’d ever like to slip away for a bit — a wander into town or a drive to the coast — you’re warmly welcome to; those personal outings are simply not covered.

How is the accommodation set up?

The whole estate is ours — thirty bedrooms in total, spread across three beautiful places to stay. Most are roomy multi-bedroom apartments, each bedroom with its own bathroom, plus a shared living space and kitchen:

  • The Palazzo (15th-century, crowning the hilltop) — seven apartments named for the Renaissance figures of Le Stonghe: 2 three-bedroom apartments, 2 two-bedroom apartments and 3 one-bedroom apartments (including the bridal apartment) — plus its own pool, courtyards and panoramic terraces.
  • The Country House (17th-century, about 500 feet down the hill) — four spacious three-bedroom apartments, each sleeping up to six, with original beams and a pool of their own.
  • The City Apartment (in the heart of Fossombrone, a 15-minute drive) — one grand five-bedroom apartment sleeping up to ten, for anyone who’d like a little more space or a taste of Italian city life.
When can we check in and out?

Check-in opens at 4:00 pm on Saturday 8 May. On Tuesday 11 May, rooms need to be vacated by 10:00 am, but you’re welcome to stay and enjoy the estate until 11:30 am. If your travel plans need a little flexibility on either end, just let us know and we’ll do our best to help.

What should I wear?

Each event has its own dress code — here’s what we mean by each:

  • Cocktail chic (welcome pizza night) — polished but fun: a nice dress or jumpsuit, or a smart shirt and trousers. No need for full formalwear.
  • Garden formal (the wedding day) — our dressiest moment: suits or jackets, and elegant dresses or jumpsuits. The ceremony, aperitivo and dinner are outdoors on gravel and lawn, so block heels are your friend — and early-May evenings can be cool, so bring a light wrap or layer.
  • Poolside chic (day-after lunch & pool party) — swimwear plus a stylish cover-up, or an easy, relaxed outfit for lounging in the sun.
  • Dressy casual (farewell BBQ) — relaxed but put-together: think linen, a sundress, or smart-casual separates. Nothing formal.
Are children welcome?

As much as we adore the little ones in our lives, we’ve planned this as a grown-ups’ celebration — we’d love for every guest to be fully present (and on the dance floor) with us. That said, we know every family’s situation is different, so if this poses a real difficulty please reach out and we’ll do our best to work something out.

Will transportation be provided?

During the celebration, shuttles run to and from the Palazzo for everyone staying at the Country House and the City Apartment, so you’re covered for every event. For getting to and from Le Stonghe itself, we’d recommend renting a car for the most flexibility. We may also arrange a group shuttle from Bologna to the estate — if that would be helpful for you, just reach out and let us know. Ample parking is available on site if you’re driving.

What if it rains?

No need to worry. The estate’s Barn is a beautiful, light-filled indoor space used as a backup, and the team watches the forecast closely and will consult with us before any decisions. Luckily, it rarely rains all day in May.

What’s the weather like?

Early May in Le Marche is mild and spring-like — daytime highs around 18–22°C (mid-60s to low-70s°F) with cooler evenings. Bring a layer for after dark and perhaps something for the occasional spring shower.

Do I need a car?

Not necessarily — all of our events take place on the estate, and a shuttle runs to and from the Palazzo for guests staying at the Country House and City Apartment. But if you’d like to explore Urbino, Fossombrone or the Adriatic coast before or after, a rental car is the easiest way to get around.

Who can I contact with questions?

We’re always happy to help — reach out to us anytime at jayalewedding@gmail.com and we’ll get right back to you.
